Please don’t forget that she is also someone

That you used to soak in admiration

There will always be someone else to look at and think “wow”

But I hope you remember to notice the person lying next to you each night

And think the same

Be in awe of how they get through the days

How they support and love you and give you all they’ve got

Even on you’re worst days

Don’t forget they are also a person too, a whole person

Not just the one that keeps the house and care takes

She has a whole vibrancy that you’re missing out on, while watching everyone else’s light shine

If you look up, you’ll be able to experience hers and think “wow that’s all mine”
